About the Role

<h2>Senior Automation Tester</h2><p>We are seeking a <strong>Senior Automation Tester</strong> with 5?8 years of demonstrable, hands-on experience in software test automation. The ideal candidate has built and maintained automation frameworks from the ground up, writes production-quality code in Java or Python, and applies strong SQL skills to validate data end-to-end. This is a practitioner role ? not a theoretical one. Candidates must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Selenium, write automation scripts during the interview process, and articulate their direct contributions on past projects. <strong>Note:</strong> Candidates with only theoretical or project-exposure-level knowledge of Selenium, SQL, or scripting languages will not meet the bar for this role.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Design, develop, and maintain robust automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver and test frameworks such as TestNG or JUnit.</li><li>Write complex SQL queries to validate data accuracy across databases including Snowflake, Redshift, Oracle, and Netezza.</li><li>Build and enhance test automation frameworks (Page Object Model, data-driven, keyword-driven) from scratch.</li><li>Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and manage execution at scale.</li><li>Collaborate with developers, BAs, and product managers in an Agile/Scrum environment using Jira.</li><li>Analyse test results, identify defect patterns, and drive root cause analysis.</li><li>Mentor junior QA engineers and champion testing best practices across the team.</li><li>Write and maintain Unix shell scripts for test environment setup and automation support.</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>5?8 years of hands-on Automation Testing experience (not manual testing with basic automation exposure).</li><li>Real-world project experience with Selenium WebDriver ? theoretical knowledge only is a disqualifier.</li><li>Ability to write complex SQL queries (joins, aggregations, subqueries) independently; no SQL knowledge is a disqualifier.</li><li>Proficiency in Java and/or Python ? must be able to write, debug, and review automation code; basic familiarity is insufficient.</li><li>Experience with at least one test automation framework (TestNG, JUnit, PyTest, or equivalent).</li><li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BTech) or a related technical field.</li></ul><h3>Work Arrangements</h3><ul><li>Full-time position.</li><li>Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.</li></ul>
